Transcript:

"My son, Stuart, had been helping a friend on a farm and four days later he became very ill with sickness and diarrhoea.

He then went on to develop blood in his diaorrhea.

At this point I had phoned NHS24.

It was just after he'd been admitted to hospital that they confirmed that it was E.coli O157.

He then started taking seizures and it was discovered that he had gone on to develop HUS - Haemolytic uraemic syndrome, which is a secondary illness.

While Stuart was working on the farm he had a cut to the back of his hand, and he'd knocked it and it had started to bleed, so he licked it, and his hands had obviously been contaminated with the E.coli O157 and that was how easy it was to catch it. "
