E.coli O157 & Haemolytic Uraemic Syndrome

Animal Quackers remains closed

30th July 2012

A 4-week closure order on a Bacup petting farm has been extended for a further 14 days. Rossendale Council originally secured the order against Animal Quackers, based at Huttock Top Farm, at the end of June and has requested the extention to give the owners additional time to carry out necessary improvements.

The council said that the petting farm still presented an increased risk of E.coli to the public and would not be allowed to re-open until the remedial work has been completed.
